1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Vichat visual novel platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Vichat provides an AI-powered interactive visual novel experience. The Service includes, but is not limited to:
- AI-generated interactive stories with branching narratives
- Digital currency systems (Story Tokens and Fate Points) for in-app purchases
- User-generated content creation tools (Studio)
- Community features including comments and social interactions
3. Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account using Google, Discord, X (Twitter), or Guest Login. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 should have parental consent.
4. Virtual Currency and Purchases
4.1 Story Tokens
Story Tokens are virtual currency used to generate AI story content. Tokens are consumed each time the AI generates a story response. Token costs vary based on AI model tier selected.
4.2 Fate Points
Fate Points are virtual currency used for special in-game actions such as divine intervention, rerolling outcomes, or accessing premium narrative options.
4.3 Purchase Terms
- All purchases are processed securely by our payment partner (Paddle).
- Prices are displayed in USD. Local currency conversion may apply.
- Virtual currencies have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Purchased tokens and points are non-transferable between accounts.
5. Refund Policy
All purchases are processed by Paddle as our Merchant of Record. Paddle's refund policy applies to all transactions.
5.1 14-Day Refund Window
You may request a full refund within 14 days of your purchase date. Refund requests made within this 14-day window will be processed by Paddle.
5.2 How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, use the receipt link provided in your purchase confirmation email from Paddle, or contact us at vichat58371@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 48 hours.
5.3 Virtual Currency
Story Tokens and Fate Points are digital goods delivered instantly upon purchase. Virtual currencies have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or cashed out.
6. User-Generated Content
Users may create game modes, characters, and stories through the Studio feature. By submitting user-generated content:
- You retain ownership of your original content.
- You grant Vichat a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content within the Service.
- You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any laws or third-party rights.
- Content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or violates community guidelines may be removed without notice.
7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The Service uses AI (Google Gemini) to generate story content. Please note:
- AI-generated content may occasionally be unexpected, inaccurate, or inappropriate.
- We implement safety filters but cannot guarantee all generated content will be suitable for all audiences.
- AI-generated content does not represent the views or opinions of Vichat.
- Users should exercise their own judgment when interacting with AI-generated narratives.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Create, upload, or distribute sexually explicit, pornographic, or NSFW content
- Attempt to bypass AI safety filters to generate prohibited content
- Attempt to exploit, hack, or reverse-engineer the Service
- Use automated tools to interact with the Service (bots, scrapers)
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
- Share or distribute content intended to harm minors
- Attempt to manipulate or abuse the token/point economy
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, AI systems, and original content, is owned by Vichat and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without written permission.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the account settings. Upon termination, your unused tokens will be forfeited unless a refund is applicable under Section 5.
11. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Vichat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, tokens, or game progress.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of law principles.
